From April 15 to July 15, 2025, registrations are open—free of charge—via the official website: www.bluemarinaawards.com for the fourth edition of the Blue Marina Awards, the initiative dedicated to promoting and supporting Italian tourist ports and marinas through a virtuous and sustainable growth process.
Once registered on the Blue Marina Awards website, participants will automatically receive an email directing them to the RINA platform, where they must fill in their personal details, which will be verified by RINA. After verifying the completeness of the submitted information, the applicant will receive a link to access the RINA platform and participate in the 2025 Blue Marina Awards by completing the evaluation questionnaire.
The final deadline to complete the RINA evaluation platform is July 31, 2025.
The initiative, in which ASSONAT-Confcommercio, the National Association of Tourist Ports and Marinas, is an institutional partner, is not a competition but rather an opportunity for all participants to engage in dialogue and mutual growth. Through RINA, the technical body of the Blue Marina Awards, each facility will receive a free, detailed report assessing their current standing based on more than 80 key indicators in environmental and energy sustainability, tourism hospitality, inclusiveness, technological innovation, and safety.
The approach of the Blue Marina Awards is pragmatic and focused on continuous improvement, allowing ports and marinas to concretely identify opportunities for development and strengthen their strategic positioning in the nautical tourism market. Facilities that meet the established standards of excellence—outlined in the public regulations available on the website—will receive the prestigious BMA recognition, valid for 12 months. In addition to receiving the recognition, as in previous editions, important economic prizes will also be awarded.
The initiative is triggering a virtuous cycle, offering ports and marinas the opportunity to benchmark, identify areas for improvement, and become active participants in an ongoing process of enhancement, becoming more attractive in a constantly evolving market.
To encourage participation and ensure proper (and free) completion of the process, an online webinar will be held on May 5 at 11:00 a.m., organized by RINA, to:
- explain how to participate in the Blue Marina Awards
- present evaluation criteria and tools provided by RINA
- support ports and marinas in their application process
As in previous editions, the 2025 edition will include a calendar of travelling events leading up to the final awards ceremony in Rome in late October. These events aim to promote and deepen the key themes of the Blue Marina Awards.
Upcoming dates on the calendar:
- May 9: Procida
- May 23: Andora
- June 12: Marina di Puntaldia
The Blue Marina Awards initiative is perfectly aligned with the Piano del Mare (National Maritime Strategy) and the European objectives on blue economy and sustainable tourism. It contributes to the growth and seasonality expansion of tourist ports and marinas, helping them become engines of well-being and gateways to experiential tourism—centres of excellence well integrated into the surrounding socio-economic fabric, bridging land and sea.
A simple, merit-based process, with no juries, based solely on objective and transparent criteria guaranteed by RINA.
