Established on February 13, 2018, with the entry into force of the new Italian Nautical Code, the National Sea and Maritime Culture Day is celebrated every year on April 11 to rediscover, understand, and promote the maritime heritage of Italy.
The purpose of the day is to raise awareness among young people through educational activities and opportunities for discussion, organized in collaboration with the Italian Coast Guard, with the aim of fostering the concept of “sea citizenship” and encouraging students to become active citizens of the sea.

🚢 CONFINDUSTRIA NAUTICA – Sea Day in Schools
Strongly advocated by Confindustria Nautica and included in the legislative reform of the Nautical Code, the Sea Day in Schools initiative targets middle and high school students, aiming to spread awareness and knowledge of the sea as a life experience and boating as an opportunity for growth.
To support this message, a dedicated video titled “The Sea Experienced from the Sea” has been released. The video emphasizes that the sea can be a school of life for young people of all ages, and that experiencing it from a boat, consciously, is easier than one might think.
